Up24 Sale System: offline billing and khata for small shops
Our own product. A Windows point-of-sale app for kiryana, general and medical stores that runs fully offline, keeps the shop's data on its own PC, and works in English and Urdu.

Why we built it
A small shop needs to bill quickly, know what is in stock, and keep track of who owes it money. Many shops do not have a reliable internet connection, and a monthly fee for software is a hard ask. So we built a point-of-sale app that needs neither: no internet, no server and no monthly fee to sell.
What it does
- Billing. Scan a barcode, type, or tap a quick button. Sell by quantity, by weight, or by amount ("Rs 100 of sugar"). The change to hand back is shown large. Discounts in rupees or percent, with a limit the owner sets for each cashier.
- Khata. An account for each customer, payments received, a full history, and udhaar reminders sent on WhatsApp. Wholesale customers get their own rates and a credit limit.
- Stock. Barcodes, cost and sale prices, low-stock warnings, expiry dates and batches for medical stores, sizes and colours for clothes and shoes, barcode labels, and import from Excel.
- Money and reports. Daily cash closing, expenses, returns and refunds, suppliers and purchase orders, daily and monthly reports with profit, export to Excel, and a daily summary on WhatsApp.
- Urdu and English. Both the screens and the receipt, and the WhatsApp messages.
- Payments. Cash, or digital with the shop's own JazzCash or Easypaisa QR.
Features a shop does not need can be switched off, and the setup screen turns on the right ones for the kind of shop.
Decisions that matter
- Everything stays on the shop's PC. There is no cloud and no account. The shop's data is in one local database on its own computer.
- A sale is never deleted. It can be cancelled, with a reason, so the record stays complete. Money is kept in whole paisa.
- Two kinds of user. Only the owner can cancel sales, change prices, see profit or restore a backup. Forgotten the PIN? A recovery code written on paper at setup is the only way back in.
- Backups happen by themselves. Daily, zipped and checked every time, with the number of days kept chosen by the owner.
- Updates are signed. The app refuses an update that is not signed by us, and saves a copy of the shop's data before any update that changes how it is stored.
- The rules have tests. Discounts, returns, credit limits, batches and the rest are covered by automated tests.
Where it stands
It is our own product, at its first version, for Windows 10 and 11. It runs free for 30 days and then needs a license key. Counters for a second PC on the same network are planned and not part of this version.
